Lynn "Legend" Redgrave 1943-2010

Publicist Rick Miramontez has released to press that the British film and stage actress Lynn Redgrave died Sunday night at her apartment in New York. She was 67 years old. Lynn’s death followed not even a month after her older brother, Corin Redgrave, which occurred on April 6. Her death was apparently due to breast cancer which she had been in an on-going battle with for the past 7 years.

Lynn was most well known for her starring in the 1960’s films “Georgy Girl” which earned her the New York Film Critics Award and “Gods and Monsters” both of which she received Oscar Nominations for. As we all know those two films are just tiny morsels of her career. As she flourished and was featured in many films as recent as “My Dog Tulip” in 2009 and even many recent TV Shows such as “Ugly Betty” and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”. She had even recently been inducted at the 39th Annual Theater Hall of Fame ceremony which had been held on January 25 in the Gershwin Theatre's North Rotunda.

On Lynn’s homepage she quotes:
“I am proud to be part of a family of actors, embracing as it does more than five generations..."

My heart goes out to the Redgrave Family for the recent tragedies to the Redgrave Dynasty and the demise of a cherished actress. Lynn’s mark in theater will always be remembered!
